Busy,busy...

Sorry I have not posted any projects.
It's been very busy around here with Murmur (our puppy) that had surgery,
a party I am getting ready for and a baby shower sunday.
Bernie also had emergency surgery last week and is recovering.
I bought myself a camera and I am so addicted to instagram and editing photos.
Which leads me to this camera strap cover I made. If you take photos, you know how uncomfortable the camera strap can be on your neck. I've seen many versions of the camera strap on Pinterest so I made my own. I am selling these for $12 ppd. and they are personalized with your name (up to 6 letters) and your choice of hearts, spirals, or cupcakes stamped on the blank.
I make them to order if there is a color combination you'd like, just drop me an email.
Have a great weekend ~Liz & Bernie

DIY under $3

Sorry this is late, I have had a rough morning.
My son was in a little accident. He is ok, thank God.

Supplies
1 glass candle stick (Dollar Tree)
1 glass vase (Dollar Tree)
E-6000 glue
Directions
Place ring of E-6000 around the top of the candle stick and set the glass vase on top.
EASY as pie! You can do these in various sizes and use on a coffee table or a candy buffet table.
Fill with different accents for the holidays.
I have primitive decor so I used a rosehip mix with wax grungy stars.

Enjoy~Liz & Bernie

Good Morning!

We have reached over 1,000 hits since the launch of our site.
I quickly wanted to let people know that if you come here via Pinterest or Twitter, it will show Lizzie's Homespun which is ME :) Twitter will not allow me to have two accounts with the same email and since I already have followers via twitter, I'd rather not start over.
My Pinterest is full of inspiration. Please check it out.
Have a great weekend... Liz & Bernie

DIY Cake Stand under $5

Cake stand under $5? Yes please... I came across a similar tutorial (there are so many out there) on Pinterest and put my spin on it using vinyl. Such a cute stand to make for showers, entertaining, or as a gift. They are so cute and are HANDMADE..which is fabulous. How cute would these be for Halloween and Christmas?

Supplies
1 Can of matte grey primer
1 Can spray paint of your choice
(I used Almond and Berry Pink)
1 Glass candle stick ($ Tree)
1 Silver platter ($Tree)
E 6000 Glue
Vinyl polka dots & flowers (if you choose vinyl)

Spray paint 2 coats of grey primer to both the candle stick and platter.
Let dry completely in between coats.
Spray paint both the platter and candle stick the color of your choice and let dry.
Once completely dry, apply the E6000 to the tapered end of the candle stick and position in the center of the platter. Turn right side up and place something heavy on the platter to weigh it down.
Let it dry over night.
You can leave as is or choose to decorate your cake stand with vinyl as shown.
If you are interested in a kit of flowers and polka dots for this project, please drop me an email.
Please keep in mind these are NOT food safe.
(Cupcakes in this photo are from "Sweets by Maggie" a local cupcake shop. Pictured is Summer Shandy, Chocolate Raspberry, Lemon, and Chocolate. They are quite YUMMY)
Anyways....
You can use a paper cake doily under food items.
These can also be used to hold jewelry, nail polish, make up, etc...
Stack 3 to make a cupcake stand~enjoy

DIY Solar Lights Under $2

Supplies
1 glass frappuccino coffee bottle (I used one from Aldis)
1 solar light (Dollar Tree $1)
Goo Gone
E-6000 (Walmart)
Vinyl (I can cut what you need)

Step one: wash your coffee bottle and remove the stickers.
Use Goo Gone to remove the left over adhesive. Then wash again to remove the goo gone.
Place your vinyl where you'd like. I used the letter "E" and polka dots but you can use any design.
Take your solar light and remove the stake. You can also remove the plastic under the light if you choose. I left mine on because I like the effect (as shown in the picture).
Place a little bit of E-6000 around the rim of the bottle and set the solar light on top.
Let dry and add your ribbon.
I made mine for our picnic table but these would be cute on a deck or by an entry.
You can also add colored sand, shells, buttons..etc in the bottle.
